PRINCIPAL POINTS
Safety First in Winter Weather
As we enter the winter season, it's important to prioritize safety during icy, rainy, and snowy conditions. Please remind students to dress warmly, wear appropriate footwear, and be cautious when walking on slippery surfaces. Additionally, encourage them to stay updated on weather forecasts and school closure announcements.
The Significance of Standardized Tests
Standardized tests play a crucial role in assessing students' academic progress and the overall effectiveness of our educational programs. They provide valuable insights into student learning and help identify areas for improvement. By taking these tests seriously, students can contribute to the continuous enhancement of our educational standards. Students have started taking their NWEA tests. Please ask your child how they think they have done and or whether or not they have met their RIT-Goals. We have been celebrating many students who have already met or exceeded their goals for the winter testing session.
M-STEP testing is just around the corner. Please encourage your child to give their best efforts when taking these assessments.
The Power of a Good Night's Sleep
Getting an adequate amount of sleep is essential for students' overall well-being and academic success. Encourage students to establish healthy sleep habits by maintaining a consistent sleep schedule and creating a relaxing bedtime routine. Adequate rest improves cognitive function, memory retention, and overall focus in the classroom.
Be Prepared for Success
Preparation is key to achieving success in both academics and life. Encourage students to stay organized, manage their time effectively, and utilize resources such as planners and study guides. By fostering a mindset of preparedness, students can approach challenges with confidence and resilience.
We hope these reminders will help our students thrive academically and stay safe during the winter season. Thank you for your continued support in promoting a safe and positive learning environment.
The Power of Positivity
In a world full of challenges, the power of positivity can make a significant impact. When we approach situations with a positive mindset, we open ourselves up to opportunities, creativity, and resilience. Positivity not only benefits our mental and emotional well-being but also creates a ripple effect, influencing those around us.
Embracing positivity can transform our classrooms into supportive environments where students feel encouraged to take risks, learn from failures, and celebrate successes. It fosters a sense of community and collaboration, making learning more enjoyable and meaningful for everyone involved.
Let's remember that positivity is not about ignoring the difficulties we face, but about approaching them with hope, determination, and a belief in our ability to overcome them. As educators and parents, we have the power to inspire and cultivate positivity in our students, helping them develop the mindset and skills they need to thrive in both school and life.
So, let's embrace the power of positivity and create a brighter, more empowering learning experience for ourselves and our students.
PARKING LOT ISSUES
- Parking lot rules have been established, shared and reiterated many times. There are still parents (especially in the mornings) who are not following rules, which creates major safety concerns for all. They are cutting in line, driving the wrong way, parking in the looping lane -watching their child walk all the way into the building etc. I am looking for volunteers in the mornings to assist with keeping our Taft family safe! Please watch the video that is sent out on DOJO regularly to ensure that we all are on the same page.
