Greetings Shenandoah Valley Families,

We are looking forward to seeing you at Meet the Teacher on August 17! Our amazing custodians and secretaries have been working hard to prepare the building for the return of staff on the 14th and and students on the 21st. Teacher assignments will become available to parents and guardians on Wednesday, August 16th in Infinite Campus. If you are having trouble logging into Infinite Campus, you can contact the Parkway Help Desk at 415-8181.

Please see below for some important information regarding visitors and volunteers. Please read through this if you plan to volunteer or chaperone any field trips this year.

Transportation

Arrival Dismissal 2023/24 School Year - Please note the entrance and exit have changed from previous years. Please click on the link for a map and description.

A transportation form (link) will be emailed home on August 15 for you to indicate how your child will be going home from school on a normal basis.

Visitor and Volunteer Information

We are excited to welcome volunteers and visitors to SVE! Please note the difference between a volunteer and a visitor, as a volunteer is required to have a full background check as outlined below. If you have already completed fingerprinting, it is good for 6 years. However, the volunteer application needs to be completed each year.

A Parkway volunteer is an individual who has an opportunity to be alone with a student. Please see the Volunteer Information.
A Parkway visitor is an individual in a school for a limited period of time who does not have the opportunity to be alone with a student. Parkway Visitors do not need to go through the background check process.

Please note the following specifics related to volunteer and visitor opportunities:

Visitors may eat lunch with their child by scheduling ahead of time (Form coming soon).
We will continue having students meet parents/guardians in the vestibule when picking up early.
We will not be allowing parents/guardians inside the lobby/front hallway before dismissal.
Per Missouri Statute 168.133, those who wish to volunteer must complete a fingerprint background check through the Missouri State Highway Patrol and FBI. The cost for the background check is $42.00 and is the responsibility of the volunteer. Please reach out if you need assistance.

It can take volunteers anywhere from 4-6 weeks to be approved so please do not delay if you plan to assist in the coming months. We suggest applying at the beginning of the year.
