Board of Education Election Results
The WSD Board of Education had two open seats in the April 6 election. Jason Goodson was elected with 2,910 votes (24.97%), and Shannon Stolle was elected with 2,190 votes (18.80%). The results are unofficial until certified by the St. Charles County Election Authority. The new Board members will be sworn in during a special Board of Education meeting on April 20.

Three Wentzville School District juniors have been selected to attend the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State of Missouri. One student was chosen from each WSD high school; Hanna Flacke (Holt), Sanjana Anand (Liberty), and Nora Pryor (Timberland).
Missouri Girls State delegates are selected based on their leadership abilities, interest in government, service to others, and academics. The 2021 session of Missouri Girls State is scheduled to be held on the campus of the University of Central Missouri (UCM) in Warrensburg June 20-26.

Students in the Holt, Liberty and Timberland high school HOSA (Future Health Professionals) chapters competed in the Missouri HOSA State Leadership Conference, which was held virtually March 22-26 this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Twelve WSD students brought home an award and qualified to move on to the HOSA 44th Annual International Leadership Conference (ILC), which will take place virtually this year, June 23-26.

WSD Students Named to Saint Charles Community College Fall 2020 Dean's List
The WSD would like to congratulate ten students who have been named to the St. Charles Community College Fall 2020 Dean’s List through their participation in the WSD’s Early College Program. Through this program, which is hosted at Holt High School and taught by WSD teachers, juniors and seniors have the opportunity to work toward, or fully complete, an Associate’s Degree through St. Charles Community College while still in high school. If students take advantage of the program for two years and take summer classes at SCC, they could potentially earn both their high school diploma and an Associate’s Degree at the same time. Nearly 1,600 high school marketing students from across the state competed in the annual Missouri DECA State Career Development Conference, which was held virtually March 8-19 this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After successful results in their competitions, 40 WSD students will compete in the DECA International Career Development Conference, which will take place virtually this year, April 24-27.
Students competed as individuals or in teams in a variety of categories and created a video response to realistic workplace problems, which were evaluated by more than 150 business and industry professionals who serve as competitive events judges. DECA’s industry-validated competitive events are aligned with the National Curriculum Standards in the career clusters of marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism.

WSD High School Student Councils Receive Gold Honor Council Awards
All three WSD high school student councils earned the Gold Honor Council Award from the Missouri Association of Student Councils (MASC). The Award recognizes student councils for their involvement at the local level, the district level, and the state level, and honors them for having a comprehensive program in promoting student activities and student leadership. Holt, Liberty, and Timberland student councils are among 60 councils from across the state who received the award. Holt’s student council sponsor is Erin Chase, assisted by Olivia Hollander; Liberty’s student council sponsor is Lindsay Holmes, assisted by Amanda McMillen; and Timberland’s student council sponsor is Jim Andrzejewski, assisted by Bridget Campbell.
