Hosting the amazing John Sowash was an awesome way to end our week last week! John is the leading expert on the use of Chromebooks in the classroom and is a Google certified trainer. He helps teachers around the world use classroom technology with confidence and creativity. Father Andrew White School has had an established 1:1 Chromebook program for the past 5 years so we were excited to have John fly in from Michigan to train our staff with his latest tips that they can use with our students. Last Friday, when students had an early dismissal, teachers stayed late to receive practical, hands-on professional development that they can implement immediately!

We look forward to a day of fun with the many activities that Mrs. Stewart has planned for our students. The Field Days will be split into two groups. Most activities are outside so please be sure to put sunblock on your child at home before school.

• Tuesday, June 7th: Grades K-5

We are looking for five more Field Day volunteers for Tuesday, June 7th. Volunteers will help run stations and are guaranteed to have fun! If you can volunteer for the June 7th Field Day, from 8 - 11:30am, please contact Mrs. Stewart at fawspe@fatherandrewwhite.org

Our Book Fair will be here soon and we are looking for volunteers. Our busy "browsing" day will be Tuesday, May 31st. We would love to have volunteers for a few hours each morning from May 31st through June 8th. If you are available for a few hours, or a few days, or if you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Pietsch at fawslibrary@fatherandrewwhite.org.

Each quarter our middle school students take an elective class once a week. Examples of elective classes include: Photography, Architectural Modeling, Shakespeare for Kids, Bucket Drumming, Debate Class, Keyboarding, Physics in Flight, and Olympic Games.

For the 2022-2023 school year, we are looking for adults to volunteer to share their expertise or passion with our students. Classes will be held on Wednesday mornings for 8 week sessions. All instructors will need to be VIRTUS compliant which includes having a background check and taking a "Protecting God's Children" workshop. Each year we attend a school wide retreat at Camp Maria Retreat Center. As we hope to grow in faith, wisdom, and love we decided to have students make bookmarks during our retreat. They bundled them with sunflower seeds so that they can be distributed to all the visitors who come to Camp Maria over this next year.

We had a lovely Band, Chorus, and 3rd Grade Recorder Concert last week! Way to go musicians! Thank you to our Music Teacher, Mrs. Cacko and our Band Teacher, Ms. Etter who help our students throughout the year!

Tuition agreements are now past due. Tuition agreements are to be completed electronically via your TADS account. Remember to complete the tuition agreement by selecting your payment plan and “signing” your contract. Father Andrew White School has an Annual Giving Campaign, where we reach out to families, alumni, and local parishioners to raise funds for the school. This year, we are raising funds to "Pave the Way for Kids to Play" as we transition the rear parking lot into an enjoyable recess area for our students. St. Mary’s Ryken is currently looking for families to host international students in the 2022-23 school year from Switzerland, Spain, Germany and Serbia. Each student has great English language skills, is a good student and wants to be active in school activities and sports. Hosting an international student provides a unique cultural experience for the whole family! Host family stipends are available to help defray the costs of hosting a student.
