CVU Celebrations

Dear CVU Community: Our friends at the Flynn braved the rain to bring Red Baraat and the Birdmen to CVU on Tuesday night. It was a special celebration of resilience, of the community that creates resilience, and of the art that creates community. I've been around CVU for a bit, and this was definitely a first!

Please make sure to complete your health forms on Powerschool. You can find the link, here. Students will not be eligible for field trips until they are complete! (Make sure you don't check yourself as an "emergency contact" or you won't receive most communication from the school.)

Students in Essentials rocked the low ropes course at Camp Abnaki.

Students in calculus classes challenge one another at sketching tangent lines on curves. We use tangent lines to estimate instantaneous rate of change. (Think about it--how can there be change in one instant; doesn't change involve at least two points in time?) Ask your calculus student for an explanation!!

The CVU E-Hawks Esports team has 54 members spread across 6 game titles including Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 3, Minecraft, Rocket League, and Valorant. We are still looking for players interested in playing Overwatch 2 (grades 10-12 only) and League of Legends (all grades). If you're interested, please email cvuesports@cvsdvt.org. We are currently in pre-season with league matches starting on September 26th.

Our entire Direction Center team deserves many kudos for their work during add/drop. Getting 1350 schedules as close to right as possible is no small feat!

The Fall/Winter 2022 season runs from September – January, and the majority of classes take place at CVU High School, with the exception of online classes offered through Zoom. CVSD Virtual Town Halls

We are pleased to invite all community members to attend our monthly Virtual Town Halls. They will take place from 6:30-7:30 pm on the second Wednesday of each month. In the odd-numbered months, we'll focus on our strategic planning. When it's an even-numbered month, the topic will be diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Please join us on Wednesday, September 14th at 6:30 pm for the first CVSD Strategic Planning Town Hall. Superintendent Sanchez will give a short presentation on what a strategic plan is, our timeline, and how it fits into our current and future work, and will then take questions from the audience.
