Happy Friday Raptor Families,

Parent Teacher Conferences are fast approaching on February 13th and 15th. If you need assistance with scheduling through Meet the Teacher, please feel free to contact the office. This is a great opportunity to collaborate with your student’s teacher(s). In addition, our lost and found is full and will be cleaned out to be donated after conferences. Please have your student look for any missing items or stop by during Parent Teacher Conferences to take a look.


We are hosting our first wrestling meet versus Lyons on Monday, February 12th. Please make sure to come out and support our student athletes.


As a reminder, there is no school on February 16th and 19th. We appreciate your support and involvement in our school community. Please let us know if you need any assistance.

No AAA next week 2/13 & 2/14

Reminder there is no AAA next week, February 13th and February 14th due to Parent Teacher Conferences. AAA will resume on Tuesday, February 20th.

No School- Friday, February 16th & Monday, February 19th

After School Supervision

If your students are staying outside the building on school grounds after school hours they must have adult supervision.

Late Starts for the School Year:

March 6th, April 3rd, May 1st


School starts at 11:05am, the earliest students can be dropped off is 10:50am. Buses pick up 2.5 hours later than their normal pick up time.

Spring Picture Day- February 21, 2024

Sunshine Dental Monday, February 12th

Monday Feb. 12th Sunshine Dental in partnership with Salud Clinic will be at Thunder Valley K8. If you turned in a permission slip for your student they will be screened that day.

Mid Year iPad Insurance


If you didn't opt- in to iPad insurance in the beginning of the school year, you can still do so for the second half of the year. The cost is $12.50. Have your student see Mr. Elwood. Payment can be made in the office with cash or check or online through Infinite Campus after your student has checked in with Mr. Elwood.

Book Fair!

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming next week! We will be open the following dates and times:

6th-8th Grade Soccer Registration

6th- 8th Grade Soccer Registration is open through the City of Longmont. Practices will be Monday-Thursday 3:45-5:15 and will start March 4th. Games will start the week of March 25th. Please see the attached flyer for more details and information on how to register your student.

Frederick High School Percussion Ensemble is hosting the Rocky Mountain Percussion Association's 1st 2024 Season Competition, Saturday, February 10th. Please see below photo for more information!

Celebrate your child’s birthday by joining the Birthday Book Club and donating a book to the school library in their name! Each child who participates will have their name inscribed on a bookplate on the front endpaper of the donated book. We will take a picture of the birthday child holding their donated book and they will get the first chance to check it out.

Lost and Found

The Lost and Found is filling up. Please make sure to have your students check it for any lost jackets, sweatshirts, lunch boxes or water bottles. Anything remaining after 2/15 will be donated.

5210+ Healthy Kids Challenge

The Healthy Kids 5210+ Challenge is a FREE month- long program during February where students, school staff and families learn to practice the 5210+ healthy habits every day. Please see the attached flyer for more details.

Attendance

Parents/guardians shall be required to furnish an explanation for student absenteeism either in writing or orally. Absences not explained within two days after returning to school shall be recorded as unexcused absences unless unusual or extenuating circumstances exist as determined by the building administrator. After 10 excused or unexcused absences a doctors note is required. Communication is key to successful attendance.
