MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Greetings Titans,
Today we will conclude the Georgia Milestones End-of-Grade and End-of-Course Testing. I want to thank our Testing Coordinator, Dr. Gladys Peoples, teachers, staff, IT and Media Specialists, and the students for a smooth testing process. The testing window will officially remain open through the end of next week for make-up testing, but we will be back to business as usual.
Tonight is the Relay for Life event from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Innovation Academy High School in downtown Alpharetta. Please come to walk with or cheer for the "Elkins Pointe Titans" team as they walk in honor of Mrs. Baker-Kpeglo and Profe Bolsun. Thank you to our 7th Grade Administrator, Mr. James Tongue, and the 7th grade Science Team for all their love and efforts in the fight against Cancer.
Next Friday, May 12th, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, is the 8th Grade "An Evening in Paris" dance party. We would love to see all 8th graders at the dance. The 8th Grade Dance is an official rite of passage for our Titans and a super good time. The PTSA does a marvelous job of transforming the Gym and Atrium into a magical place filled with food, DJ music, and a photo booth. Parents, please purchase a ticket and make sure that your 8th grade student is at this special celebration!
On Wednesday of next week, District 1 Board Representative Ms. Katha Stuart will host her Community Meeting at Elkins Pointe. All parents, teachers, staff, and community members are invited to join Ms. Stuart in the Media Center at 9:30 am on May 10th. The Elkins Pointe PTSA will be providing light refreshments.
Congratulations to our newly elected 2023-2025 School Governance Council members, Mrs. Joanne Kuri, parent-elect, and Ms. Monica Colquitt, teacher-elect. Thank you to our incoming representatives and SGC (School Governance Council) members rolling off the board. Your commitment to the student success of our Titans is very appreciated.
Thanks for all you do!

CELEBRATE THE TITANS
JAPAN BOWL
Our 8th grader Japanese students, Daniel Gamba, Sydney Godoy, Aiden Schefstad, and Harris Whittle, performed wonderfully as they competed in the "Junior Japan Bowl" last Friday! One of the teams could rank 5th place (see below) out of 14 schools and over 30 teams, so our Titans did amazing! (Especially since many middle schools that participate have strong Japanese communities or students have participated in Japanese immersion schools in ES!)
A special thanks to Ms. Ida Ward, Mr. Seth Gamba, and Mr. Shawn Thomson for ensuring students could participate safely online after school!
TITANS CANCER AWARENESS FOR RELAY FOR LIFE
This week during WINN, students participated in Relay For Life activities. We hope to see you all at Innovation Academy to walk a few laps to show support for our loved ones who are fighting cancer and to remember those loved ones who have passed away. The event starts at 6 pm and goes until 10 pm. If you come, please bring chairs, snacks, water or sodas, and some cash, as many tents will be selling things to continue to fundraise for the American Cancer Society.
