Academics
This will be a normal week schedule.
Tuesday, October 26th will be an Encore day.
Thursday, October 28th is the end of 1st quarter. For students who wish to withdraw from a class or take a class Pass/No Pass, Thursday is the last day for both of these occurences.
IDs and masks are necessary to enter the building, and IDs to go through the lunch lines. Masks are to cover the mouth and nose.
After 8:20 AM, all doors lock and students and visitors will need to come through the North Main Entrance. It is against building policy to allow another student into the building through a door other than the North Main Entrance.
For two of the past four years, Valley High School has ranked in the top five of high schools in the state of Iowa, and the #1 school in the metropolitan area. Here is the US News and World October 2021 report.

Hall of Honor nominations are now open until October 31st.
There are 28 days left in the Food Bank of Iowa challenge in raising money and food for hungry Iowans. Please consider contributing to this worthy cause by clicking on this link. More contributions have been made!! Let's win this challenge!
Valley's National Honor Society will be hosting their annual Blood Drive on Monday, November 1st from 8:45 AM-2:00 PM in the Performing Arts Center lobby. To donate blood, you must be 16 years old and weigh 120 pounds (16-17 year olds also need a parent consent form.) If you have any questions, please contact Jana Edwards in room 1630 or any NHS member. Please click on this link to make an account and sign up to donate blood.
Valley High School will be hosting its annual Dodgeball tournament on November 22nd at 7 pm. All proceeds will benefit YES Shelters. Forms must be completed and turned in BEFORE November 17th. Students who turn in forms after this date WILL NOT be able to participate
Seniors who have not turned in their senior pictures, here is an important reminder.
Chess Club has resumed match play Tuesdays after school in the Media Center.
Students who are interested in poetry, prose or artwork are encouraged to submit their work to Ms. Perry (perrye@wdmcs.org) for a chance to be featured in Valley's literary magazine, Ink.
Prayer Club meets Friday morning at 7:20 AM in Mrs. Stanfel's room, 1607. Come for breakfast, fellowship and prayer.
Join the Greenhouse Club in room 1329 the first and third Wednesdays of each month after school.
Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA) meets Thursdays 3:30-4:15 in room 3422.
Join us for Anime Club every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 7:30 AM in Ms. Stanfel's Room 1607.
