Message from the Principal
Wildcat Families,
As we end 2023 and many of us celebrate, reflect and make plans for the new year, I’d like to do the same with this final message of the year. Here at CFT, we celebrate some significant improvements in our school culture and climate, where the number of behavior incidents that need intervention and documentation has decreased significantly (down 25%) from last year at this time. In our survey of families this fall, families expressed overall approval with our culture and climate work, with responses averaging 3.36 on a 4 point scale when surveyed about safety, relationships, family involvement and teaching and learning. I can feel our forward movement as a community and am grateful for the support and dedication to building consistent and positive behaviors at our school. A huge thanks goes out to our families, students and staff for their hard work and commitment to making CFT the safe, respectful space for learning it needs to be.
As I reflect, I’m mindful of many areas where we need to see continued and sustained growth. In our student climate surveys this fall we can see many areas where we to need to improve, especially when it comes to teaching and facilitating relationship building between students. Academically, we continue to strive to build more proficient readers and mathematicians, especially for whom English is a second language. I’m excited to see how we’re progressing in our learning in January when our students formally demonstrate this year’s growth and I look forward to sharing these results as we get them.
When it comes down to it, I’m thankful to be supporting a school community that is growing and evolving, recognizing that we’re far from realizing where we want and need to be.
I wish you all joy over the next couple of weeks, hopefully partnered with rest, relaxation and some time to reset as we await a new year of learning and growth in 2024.
Happy Holidays!
Tim, Principal
Mensaje del Director
Familias Wildcat,
¡Felices Festividades!
