Cougar parents,

Thank you for all your support this year. We continue to get comments and letters from families with well wishes and kind words. We appreciate all the partnerships to help our students be successful!

We are continuing our Leukemia and Lymphoma drive and appreciate the donations from our students!

We will be supporting AHS Love Week by collecting nonperishable food items for ACO. Feel free to send any items you’d like to donate with your students through Tracks classes. We will also have a collection box outside the school for drop offs.

As course registration is upon us, our counselors will be hosting Coffee with the Counselors:

• 8:30-10 am
• February 17, via Zoom

We look forward to answering any questions parents have about next year!

The window to change learning settings for the 4th quarter will open on February 15 and close on February 21. The 4th quarter starts after Spring Break.

The Curtis PTA will award two $500 scholarships to college bound Allen High School graduating seniors who attended Curtis Middle School for at least one full year.

Applications are due no later than 3 pm on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. No late or incomplete applications will be accepted.

The AHS & LFC PTSA Nominating Committee is currently accepting nominations for the 2021-2022 school year for the Executive Board and Standing Committee Chairs. If you are interested in nominating yourself for one of the board positions, please fill out the form below by 2/19/21:

The Executive Board is filled by the Nominating Committee and voted into their positions by the general membership in April. All positions are considered open, and nomination does not guarantee the position as an offer. For more information regarding the position duties, please email Shelly, eaglerun@allenptsa.org. All nominations will be held confidential. Final candidates will be notified in March. The general membership will vote on the Executive Board in April.

The Standing Committees Chair positions are appointed by the incoming PTSA President and approved by the incoming officers. Final candidates will be contacted by the new PTSA President.

Now in its 13th year, this annual Allen event benefits the Foundation For Allen Schools, and all proceeds directly fund classroom grants, teacher and student scholarships, Allen PTA programs and campus projects.

The 2021 event involves your choice of a:

1. Virtual 1 mile fun run/walk
2. Virtual 5K or
3. Sleep in registration

You will have the choice to walk around your neighborhood with family and friends or you can come walk a course we've put together on the RaceJoy APP. The course will have some great photo ops along the way too!

The 2021 course will start at the Allen High School tennis courts. You can complete your fun run/walk or 5K anytime between Saturday, February 27, 2021 and March 3, 2021. You can also upload your time through the RaceJoy APP and will still qualify for the 5K finisher medals!

It's going to be an event the whole family will enjoy, and you can feel good knowing that your participation has a direct impact on students and teachers in all Allen ISD Schools!

The Allen ISD Council of PTAs is looking for leaders to support our local PTAs. Please consider donating your time and talents. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else to a position on the Allen ISD Council of PTAs Executive Board for the 2021-2022 school year please follow this link to complete the nomination form below.

The nominating committee is only slating the officer positions at this time: President, 1st VP, 2nd VP, 3rd VP, 4th VP, Secretary, and Treasurer. The Officers will call for Standing Chair nominations at a later date.

All nominations for Council Officer positions must be received by FEBRUARY 17, 2021.

Curtis MS is raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through their Hero Squad Fundraiser. NJHS is sponsoring this fundraiser so click on the link below to donate. Search for your child’s Track’s teacher by last name to donate to their class. The Tracks classes are competing to raise the most money as part of their Team Challenge! Ask your child about Tracks Team Challenges they have done this year and what the other challenges are for this quarter!

Our CMS goal is to raise $2021. The fundraiser runs from January 25 through February 12.
