Children and COVID: With 52/126 who had or are currently with COVID, based on this information we are still not at our peak, as this equates to around 41% of our roll. Therefore, we anticipate at least in the first part of Term Two we will be working our way through COVID positive cases.
We would be most grateful, should any children test positive during the holidays, that you let us know when we start back up in Term Two. This will help us know where we are at as a school.
Made it Through: Term One has been a term like no other as, after two years, we have had the long-awaited pandemic arrive in our classrooms impacting our children and staff. Class attendance numbers have been lower across the school and staff have had their own personal journeys of contracting and recovering.
Thank you for your understanding, cooperation and support as we have managed our way through.
Term Two and the Orange Traffic Light Setting: Next term we will be operating under the Orange Traffic Light setting. For us, this means the following...
- Masks are required on buses for Year Four students upwards.
- Parents are allowed back into school with normal sign-in/sign-out requirements.
- There are no gathering limits indoors or outdoors.
Thank You - Team Edendale
- Liz Scott: Liz works as a Teacher Assistant in our schools. She has a real passion to see children progress in their learning, celebrating each step, no matter how small it may be. It is this type of commitment that brings our motto alive 'Where Our Dreams Begin'. Liz works hard to make the dreams of children come alive for them. Thanks Liz.

ANZAC Day - 25th April
ANZAC Day is in the holidays again this year.
We invite all willing students to gather at the rugby clubrooms in the recreation grounds to march in the parade. The Student Council will lay a wreath on behalf of the school. The Remembrance Service starts at 8.00am and so we would like all students walking in the parade to be there by 7.40am.
All school student participants intending to march in the parade need to be in full, correct, tidy and clean uniform. Wear a raincoat if the weather is inclement.
Enrolment at Edendale Primary School is governed by an enrolment scheme.
The School Board has 20 places available for out of zone students for the 2022 school year. The exact number of places is subject to the number of eligible in-zone enrolments received.
We have enrolment places for the first part of Term Two 2022 from Monday 2nd May to Friday 3rd June.
Applications for this period are due on Monday 2nd May.
Information and application forms can be picked up at the school office. Applications can be made electronically through our website (www.edendaleps.school.nz) under Our School - Enrolments and Attendance. On the digital form, by ticking ‘Out of Zone’, you are deemed to be making an application.
If the number of out of zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. If a ballot for out of zone places is required, it will be held on Tuesday 3rd May.
Parents will be informed of the outcome of the application and/or ballot as early as possible.
