Carver's Weekly Update
Week of Monday, March 13, 2023
Carver Parents/Guardians,
Linkit Testing
Students in grades 3-5 will begin Linkit testing on Tuesday, March 21. This will be our final Linkit test before students complete the state tests in May. It will be crucial for students to take the ELA and Math Linkit test seriously. The information gathered from the results of the test will assist teachers with identifying our students' strengths and areas of concern. Teachers will use the information gathered from the Linkit test to teach and review specific skills/content prior to state testing.
Parents, please help us by making sure students go to sleep on time, eat breakfast, and arrive to school on time. Our students should be "test ready" during the week of Monday, March 20.
Grade level and school incentives will be provided to students who show growth on the Linkit test from form B to form C.
Dress Code
As the warm weather continues, please be mindful of the school’s dress code that is listed in the student agenda and the District’s Code of Conduct. We will follow the “skin test” or “fingertip rule” to determine if skirts and shorts are the appropriate length. We ask for your cooperation in allowing your child to do the “skin test” when you have concerns about whether the length of the clothing is appropriate for school.
Chromebook Usage
Chromebooks should be used for school purposes only. We receive GoGuardian alerts when students go to inappropriate websites or when they type/search for inappropriate content. If we find that there is a pattern of this type of behavior, students will receive consequences for this. Please support us by monitoring how students are using their devices while at home.
Thank you!

Principal

A Snapshot of STEAM Learning at Carver!
During Ms. Garcia's science lesson, third grade students learned about natural resources (renewable, non-renewable, and conservation). Students completed a Mystery Bag STEM challenge. The bags had recycled items that students had to use to complete the task. Check out this cool zipline that a group of students created to complete the challenge!
Mrs. Pryor's kindergarten students had Dino week this past week! They learned all about fossils and had Dino Day on Friday!
