Tribal Nations Maps is a Native American-owned business

As a young kid, I had always sought knowledge about Native history and cultures. I would attend Pow Wows and other events and scour through the items vendors had for sell. From time to time I would see maps of the traditional territories of our tribes, but thought they looked incomplete, and the names mostly inaccurate. I filed away the idea of one day creating a more authentic-looking one myself. Years went by as I looked from time to time for a better map. One day I decided, "It’s time to make a REAL map of Native America, as WE see it." It started with four poster boards and a rough pencil drawing of the United States. Over the next 14 years I would create the Tribal Nations Map.

I have spent countless thousands of hours pouring through books, investigating in library archive buildings, making phone calls and traveling to remote reservations in the spirit of creating the most thorough map of Native America in existence. I have since gone on to make maps of the indigenous Peoples of the entire Western Hemisphere , as well as many custom maps .

KMHWA is hosting a webinar to highlight the expansion of the Youth Regional Behavioral Health Navigator program serving school-aged children and their families across the state. Join us for a panel discussion with the 8 regional teams (including the Thurston/Mason, Great Rivers, Spokane, and North Central team that launched July 2023), Developmental Disabilities Administration, and Health Care Authority for exciting updates. We will answer questions from participant registration, provide an overview of the model, connect you to the 8 YRBHN teams, and highlight how the program is making local and statewide impact. You'll hear about their local Steering and Action teams, serving families with Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings, and the collaborative streamlining of resource information with regional hubs and behavioral health navigation teams.

E3 Washington is a state affiliate of the North American Association of Environmental Educators (NAAEE). E3 is Washington’s professional association for environmental and sustainability educators. We offer best practice resources, professional development opportunities, networking, and other supportive roles to increase the capacity and effectiveness of all environment and sustainability education (ESE) organizations in the state.

Join OSPI's and other partner organizations for field experiences to highlight: tribal sovereignty, school gardens, and local ecosystem recovery projects that engage students preK-12 in hands-on, real world learning, and civic engagement. As you know, OSPI's goal is to ensure that environmental educators are offering high-quality outdoor learning opportunities that are aligned with standards, considered best practices anchored in environmental education, and anchored in local, relevant phenomena to stimulate our students' (and educators!) knowledge and imaginations.

Description of EXCEL Camp:

Exploring College Emerging Leaders (EXCEL) is a weekend youth camp at Washington State University Pullman Campus for Native American High School Juniors and Seniors. Students will participate in science focused activities, gain laboratory skills, and explore what WSU has to offer. Lodging, meals, and activities provided free of cost but transportation to and from Pullman is not included. Youth must be accompanied by a chaperone.

Opportunity to weigh in on and inform state truancy policy? State Leaders want to understand students’ experiences with truancy, improve policies to help make attendance policies and truancy laws more equitable, and understand how to better support students’ access to their education.

You may meet in-person, virtually (zoom or google hangouts), or phone. If you participate, you will receive a $45 gift card for each session as a thank you for your time.

Who can participate?

• Youth who are in grades 6 through 12th grade who have experienced truancy in the last three years or
• Parents or guardians of youth in grades Kindergarten-12th who have experienced truancy in the last three years
