Nature Conservation Volunteer Opportunity Looking for Youth leaders
Nature Conservation Volunteer Opportunity
Looking for Youth leaders
The Dabob Days volunteer project with Northwest Watershed Institute is seeking youth leaders. The project will involve harvesting cuttings from plants on the preserve to propagate and plant elsewhere. This will help to shade out invasive species and restore the watershed. We may also be potting up some of the cuttings in the nursery.
Saturday, December 17th from 10:00 AM- 2:00 PM (9:00 AM for student leaders) at the Tarboo Wildlife Preserve in Quilcene.
There will be at least a 1 hour training prior to the event that day. The training includes plant identification tips and going over information to help students lead parts of the project. This is a great opportunity for students to learn and then share what they learn with other volunteers. During the project, youth leaders will also help other volunteers with plant ID and answering questions in each zone.
Please let Megan Brookens know if you are interested in being a youth leader megan@nwwatershed.org.
