Boggess Elementary
August 12, 2022
From the Desk of Shurandia Holden
Hello Boggess Families,
We had a fun filled and exciting week at Boggess. Our 3rd graders went on a field trip to the Outdoor Learning Center. The staff at the OLC reported that our Boggess students were some of the most engaged, well behaved students they have worked with. We are so proud of how they represented Boggess.
Our PACE students had the opportunity to build robots during class. They were excited to program them and share their work in class.
Administrators had a wonderful time at the Principal Tea Party. We had the best time getting to know each other and enjoying foods and tea. We completed our time together by creating Spring suncatchers.
We would like to thank the Plano East Swim team for helping us with morning drop off. Our students loved when the team visited the classrooms. The PESH students shared information about the swim team, worked with some of the students in various classes, and assisted the coaches in PE.
A huge thank you to our wonderful PTA for organizing our Multicultural Fair. Students were able to get their passports stamped as they visited booths representing many countries from around the world. Families were able to share interesting facts and artifacts as students visited each table or booth, listened to music, participated in a drum demonstration and had fun with friends. It was awesome to celebrate the diversity of out campus.
We are celebrating “Read Across America” this week. Please see the flyer with details about activities we will be doing each day.
We look forward to seeing each of you at our Boggess Open House on Thursday, March 2nd from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Remember that we will be out for Spring Break March 6th-10th. Monday, March 13th is a Staff Work Day. We look forward to students returning on Tuesday, March 14th.
