PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Roosevelt Public School - March 18, 2024
Hello RPS Families and Friends,
Hello March!
March is National Reading Month. Across the country, schools celebrate Read Across America as a way to celebrate reading. This is a great time for us to continue to spark student interest and motivate them to read. Our RPS Family celebrated Read Across America with themed spirit days focused on reading activities.
Believe it or not, during the month of March we're busy getting ready for Field Day. Our physical education teacher, Mr. Faunce, has been working very hard on organizing a fun Field Day for RPS! I know this is a special school event that our school community looks forward to each year. You should have received my email about ordering your child's Field Day T-Shirt by 3/22. Students will receive their Field Day T-Shirts on the morning of Field Day, May 30th. Thank you for supporting the parent sponsored fundraisers throughout the year. Your support ensures that all students will receive a Field Day T-Shirt at no cost to families.
Calling All Bakers! Let the town of Roosevelt and beyond taste your special cookies, brownies, cupcakes, and breads fresh from your oven! Volunteers are needed the day of the Bake Sale on 3/30 from 9am to 12pm in the RPS Lobby. Proceeds will benefit the students of RPS. Please see the attached flyer below.
I'm looking forward to seeing you at RPS this week for Parent-Teacher Conferences on 3/19 (evening only) and 3/21 (afternoon & evening). Reminder: Preschool and Kindergarten registration is currently underway at RPS (see flyer below). Mark your calendars: On April 20th the Howard Kaufman Memorial Kickball Game is scheduled from 2-4pm at the RPS Kickball Field. Come to play or watch! Stay tuned as I continue to share the unique learning experiences we enjoy at RPS!!!
Go Dragons!
