Kids Read: Storm Warning
Twenty-five years ago, in April 1997, towns up and down the Red River Valley experienced what became known as the “flood of the century.” The fear, uncertainty and heroism of the time is richly captured in the recently published children’s middle-grade novel, “Storm Warning” by Elizabeth Raum, set in Ada, Minn., during the 1997 flood.
In partnership, the public libraries of Fargo, Grand Forks, Moorhead, Wahpeton and West Fargo are highlighting this book throughout April in a project called Red River Valley Kids Read. Children throughout the valley are invited to read the book and find out more about this historic moment in local history at a variety of events to be held at each partner library.
