Halloween
- We will celebrate Halloween with a parade and classroom parties on Tuesday, October 31st.
- Like previous years, the WES Halloween Parade will take place at 9:45am and the parties for grades K-5 will follow immediately after.
- 6th grade will have their party in the PM and teachers will be in touch with details.
- PM Kindergarten will have the parade and party in the afternoon. Mrs. Stahl will communicate to her parents about the times in a couple of weeks.
- Selecting the right costume is very exciting for our children and is a very important decision for some students to make. Please remember that costumes incorporating weapons and/or depicting violence are not appropriate to bring to school. Please be selective when helping your child choose a costume to bring to school. Your support is greatly appreciated!
- WES PTO will host Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 28th - 4:30pm-6:00pm
Cells Phones and Smart Watches
Student cell phones are to be used for emergency purposes only. Cell phones are not to be used in school or on school busses. Cell phones must be turned off and kept in the students' backpacks. Please be advised that the school is not responsible for damaged, lost, or stolen items.
In today's world, there are many reasons that students carry cell phones, but we have to collectively remind students about their appropriate use. Please see the Student-Parent Handbook for more information.
Additionally, if a student wears a Smart Watch to school, it should only be used to tell time. Students should not be texting, making calls, accessing the internet, and/or taking pictures/videos with the watches.
Counselor's Corner
Dear WES Community,
Getting enough sleep is critical to the health and well-being of students of all ages. According to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), sufficient sleep helps students:
Excel in the classroom by maximizing attention, memory and learning abilities
Perform better in sports by being faster, stronger and more accurate
Feel positive and have a more optimistic attitude toward life
Look their best and maintain a healthy weight
Have fun and enjoy life by making better decisions and staying safe
Please view this handout for more information and Tips to Improve Sleep.
All the best,
Mrs. Barb Aiello

WES Student-Parent Handbook
We encourage parents to review the revised Parent-Student handbook with their child(ren). This is optimal for families new to the school, but it's also a ideal way to have students get back into "school mode."
There are specific areas that would benefit a review with children before the start of the school year. These areas include policies involving:
- Birthdays
- Cell Phones
- Computer Usage Policy
- Forgotten Items
- Sneakers
- Dress and Grooming
- School Rules and Expectations
You can view the revised handbook at the button below.
