Upcoming Youth Apprenticeship Information Nights

Current 10th and 11th grade students interested in participating in a youth apprenticeship during the 2024-25 school year should plan to attend one of the Youth Apprenticeship information nights.


Update: All Youth Apprentice Information Nights will now be on Zoom (including February 13). There is also an info night for Spanish speaking families on February 21 (6-7pm).


Youth Apprenticeship experiences provide students the opportunity to connect classroom content with workplace learning. Benefits of participating in Youth Apprenticeship include:


  • Industry experience & career connections
  • Paid employment that can occur during the school day
  • 2 VAHS Elective Credits for 450 hours of employment

A dual enrollment opportunity for current 10th graders

The Early College STEM Academy is an opportunity for students interested in pursuing a career in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) to attend Madison College full time during their 11th and 12th grade years, earning high school and college credits simultaneously.


10th grade students at VAHS with a career interest in STEM who meet the entrance criteria below can apply:


  • At least a 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • 90% attendance rateAnd
  • minimum progress (or more) toward high school graduation requirements in English, math, science, social studies, physical education, and health classes


Applications for the Madison College Early College STEM Academy are due on January 21, 2024 and are linked HERE. There are a limited number of available positions, so application to the program does not guarantee admission.
