Allie and I wish you a happy and healthy weekend!
News from Ann and Allie
- Classroom instruction begins at 9:05 a.m. Students arriving after that time will need to enter the front door and may be marked tardy. Parents also need to use the QR code outside the front door to check their child into the building. It is important that parents complete this step and not just drop their children at the front door.
- We will have Parent-Teacher Conferences on February 17th and 18th. The conference sign-ups are open through Sign-up Genius until Thursday, February 10th at 10:00 a.m.
5 Essential Parent Survey
Parents, students, and teachers across Illinois will have an opportunity to participate in the tenth annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey is designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of Westgate School. As a parent, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness. Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will help us understand the conditions at Westgate School and guide improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey linked below. The survey window will close on March 11, 2022. If at least 20 percent of Westgate parents complete this survey, a parent supplement report will be generated.

Join Crazy 8s Math Club!
Crazy 8s is a recreational math club for elementary school students led by your very own Westgate teachers. Its goal is to raise a generation of students who love numbers. It is designed to be fun, social, and lead kids to bond over math in a whole new way. Weekly themes include Glow-in-the-Dark Geometry, Bouncy Dice Explosion, Beach Ball Party, and much more!
Crazy 8s Math Club will begin the week of February 28th and meet once a week, for 8 consecutive weeks (excluding Spring Break). Crazy 8s Math Club is provided free of charge. During club sessions, math club members will discover patterns, solve mysteries, and create new learning. This is NOT a competitive club. Lunch clubs will meet for 40 minutes during recess. After school clubs will meet 3:40-4:30. Students in after-school clubs must have their own transportation home, no busing will be provided. Club participation will be first come-first served. Sign Up Today! Click Here to Sign Up. Completing the Sign Up Form does not guarantee your child a spot. You will receive a confirmation email to confirm your child’s enrollment. Please contact Amy Arce at aarce@sd25.org with any questions. We hope to see you soon! -Mrs. Arce, Ms. Carey, Mrs. Cory, Miss Gerber, Mrs. Hynek, and Mrs. Mazzolla
