Byam Newsletter

There will be an early release day on Thursday, October 19 for professional development. Our dismissal time will be 11:45 and lunches will not be served. For pick up students, we will be opening the side gate to stage cars at 11:30.

Next week students will be continuing our Byam 3R weekly focus with ways to show the 3R Respectfulness at the Byam Bathroom locations.

A reminder we will be holding state mandated screenings for hearing and vision for our Byam students October 16-17-18.

BMI measurement with height and weight will also be recorded this school year.

Grade level screenings include:
KG: hearing, vision/stereopsis (if not already submitted for entry to KG)

1st: hearing, vision/stereopsis, BMI

2nd: hearing, vision/stereopsis

3rd: hearing, vision/stereopsis

4th: distance vision, BMI

On Wednesday, October 18 from 6:30-7:30, our 4th grade team will be hosting an interactive evening of math facts games for 4th grade students and families in our Byam dining room. This event is always a well received and attended evening. We look forward to seeing our 4th grade families next Wednesday evening.

Families in need of assistance for the holidays should reach out to Lyndsey O'Neil, School Counselor, via email at oneill@chelmsford.k12.ma.us. A few local Chelmsford community programs generously provide help for the holidays and Lyndsey O'Neil can help coordinate this with any family in need.

Forms for Beacon Santa (due 10/30) Secret Santa (due 11/8) are attached at the bottom of this newsletter and paper copies are available in the main office at Byam. Mr. Fredette or Mrs. Dolan can sign any forms that require a staff member signature. Please note the individual deadlines for form submissions as they are approaching soon.

We are currently accepting applications for a full-time Byam paraprofessional. Please spread the word and refer any interested individuals to the school spring link below to apply.
