REMINDERS/UPDATES:
Our school office cannot deliver items to students that are dropped off from home. Please refrain from dropping off personal items left behind by your child (lunch box, homework, water bottle, etc) - we cannot interrupt learning to call classrooms and we do not have staff to make classroom deliveries. Students without a lunch box will be offered a free lunch from the cafeteria.
Only students for whom you are listed as Family 1 or Family 2 in Skyward will be permitted to have lunch with our visitors. You are encouraged to come eat with any personal children with whom you live or for whom you legally share custodial rights; visitors listed as only an emergency contact are not cleared to have lunch in our cafeteria at this time. Thank you for your cooperation as we work to focus daily on safety and learning during school hours.

Each day, our students begin their morning in the classroom with a Morning Meeting. This time is built into the school day schedule to allow the teachers to review essential skills to help student learning at school. This week's focus in morning meetings will be to use positive self talk, and we will reinforce that positive self talk is the best way to be KIND to yourself. You can help at home by practicing these important skills with your child:
Model positive self-talk. Kids and teens need to constantly hear positive self-talk to internationalize it. Say positive affirmations out loud on a regular basis, such as, “Today is a fresh start,” first thing in the morning or “I can do this,” when a challenges comes up.
Make positive self-talk a morning ritual. Have kids choose their favorite positive self-talk statements. This makes it individualized for them! List out out and have students read them to themselves every morning.
Use literature. Practice positive self-talk by stopping and thinking what a character might say to themselves throughout a story.
Use a positive self-talk journal. Make learning positive self-talk fun and engaging with a daily positive self-talk journal. This journal includes practice with positive affirmations, creating your own self-talk statements, explaining self-talk, and reframing negative thoughts.
We are Mustangs! Be Kind (even to your SELF). Be You. Belong.

College and Career Crazy - No Excuses!
We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to be educated in a way that prepares them for college or for leading in the career or technical field of their choice. When schools exhibit a culture of universal achievement by believing in students, they collaborate around that belief. During collaboration, they align their standards as a team. As teams align standards, they need to assess the standards and manage the data. Then, and only then, can they pursue meaningful interventions with their students.
