K-12 students are invited to participate in Project Week. It is a chance for students to immerse themselves in a hands-on experience with OCEAN friends of all ages. We value this experience for our students as we strive to build community as we provide meaningful learning experiences.
Project Week is January 2-4, 2024.
- K-5 students are invited to join their project on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30-2:00.
- 6th-12th grade students are invited to join their project Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30-2:00 and, Wednesday from 8:30 - 1:00.
- All students are already signed up for a project and families have received an email with specifics.
Offerings include:
- Puppet Making for the play: Grades 2nd-12th (meeting in Katie's room)
- Sewing costumes: Grades 2nd-12th (meeting in MB's room)
- Painting the set: Grades K-12th (meeting at the 4H building in the Fairgrounds)
- Acting: Open only to those cast in the play (meeting in Daniel's room)
Special Note for the Cast:
Students cast in our production of A Midsummer Night's Dream will be doing acting for the play during project week. Our plays director, Marc Weinblatt, will use this week to launch the production. Actors should not sign up for the other project week offerings.
Special Note for the Violinists:
Violinists who are interested in performing music in the plan should plan to join Kristen and Daniel Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of Project Week from 11-12 and will be meeting in Judd/Koyuki's room. For those who are off campus at the time, that will mean finding transportation to those sessions. For those on campus and part of project week, that will mean taking a 1-hour break from your project and joining violin for that hour. Students who are part of painting at the fairgrounds should make a plan with Daniel.
Special Note for High School Students:
- Kyle will be offering a study hall during your normally scheduled class times. If you are not signed up to participate in project week you must attend study hall during your regular scheduled class times.
