Celebrate National 4-H Week
This year's National 4-H Week theme is Find Your Spark!
Sioux County 4-H is celebrating National 4-H Week in various ways!
- Having a theme for each day of the week. (Check out the flyer below.) We will be making social media posts on our Facebook page for a different way for you to celebrate each day.
- Locker signs for 4-H'ers who were active in 4-H Online this year
- 4-H Signs displayed on the courthouse lawn
I realize you do not have the ability to post in Facebook but feel free to just participate to show your 4-H spirit. If you or your club do something special during National 4-H Week, let us know and we would love to share it!
Fun Feed
The Sioux County Fun Feed will be held on Sunday, October 17th at the Fire Hall starting at 4 pm. It is a potluck, families are asked to bring a side/vegetable or a dessert. The meat will be provided by the 4-H Council. Youth and volunteers will be recognized for their accomplishments throughout the year.
New 4-H Year
Did you know the 4-H year is October 1 - September 30? October 1 is the start of a NEW 4-H Year! While everyone is anxious to get re-enrolled in 4-H Online, you will have to wait until all year-end reporting and the upgrade is completed.
4-H Online Enrollment for the 2021-2022 4-H year will not be open until after November 8. There is an upgrade called, 4-H Online 2.0, that will be happening for this year. Most other states use this version of 4-H Online. We have received reports that the 2.0 version is supposed to be more "user-friendly."
Next Chapter Pumpkin Patch
On Saturday, October 30 from 10am-4 pm, 4-H staff will give 8th graders around the panhandle and central sandhills a fun leadership, entrepreneurship, and career and college readiness opportunity, plus have some fun at a pumpkin patch! Youth will meet at Prairie Winds Community Center in Bridgeport and go over a few activities to help learn more about yourself and what you are interested in perusing in life. After lunch, youth will travel to Gurley and visit the pumpkin patch and enjoy the activities they have.
The Next Chapter program is designed by the University of Nebraska and Nebraska Extension to help youth explore future College & Career paths.
Registration Deadline is October 15. Registration link: https://go.unl.edu/phchapter1 Cost is $25
