Upper Adams School District's Mission and Vision is:
All Students College and Career Ready.
A message from Superintendent, Wesley T. Doll, Ed.D.
As the entire district continues to ensure a more diverse and inclusive learning environment, we are sharing an update on our progress. The school board has reviewed the report from the independent investigation into possible bullying, racism, and discrimination in Upper Adams School District by Fox Rothschild. In ensuring that we keep our entire school community informed, we have released a summary of the report and the complete recommendations, which are available in English and Spanish on our dedicated webpage: http://upperadams.org/anti-racism-plan, along with ongoing updates.
As we embark on our plan of action, we also continue to provide a comprehensive educational experience preparing our students for post-graduation schooling and career opportunities. Our district vision is clear and concise: “All students college and career ready.” Today, the lens of our vision has expanded to how we affect fostering a community and world that supports our students’ success as we teach, mentor, and lead through exemplary behavior that inspires meaningful change.
The district plans to share a more comprehensive update in the early fall of 2021 on next steps as we take the necessary time to conduct a purposeful review of the collected information to ensure sustainable efforts are put into place to support every child’s success.
Our plan will be inclusive of the recommendations received in the Fox Rothschild report, as well as the outcomes of the district’s Climate Survey and Equity Audit currently underway. Our efforts will be guided by a newly formed committee which reflects our diverse community of voices.
We encourage our entire school community to provide feedback on the summary report, as well as the first part of our Anti-Racism Plan and our Comprehensive Plan. Please email your comments, suggestions, questions, and other feedback to equityfeedback@upperadams.org.

Sixth Grade Virtual Career Day
The 6th Graders from Upper Adams Intermediate School enjoyed two class periods of a “virtual” career day. Thank you to our community and parent volunteers! Careers and presenters this year included:
● Representative Torren Ecker, PA State Representative
● Beth Chinnick, Veterinary Medicine (Compassion Animal Hospital)
● Jesus Raya, Steel Fabrication Production Supervisor at Conewago Manufacturing
● Tracy Garber, Owner of Salon 34
● Clint Kramer, Upper Allen Township Police Officer/SRT Member
● Katie Wagaman, Speech-Language Pathologist
● Paul Dugan, Lighting Design Engineer
● Sonya Showers & Family: Showers Tree Farm
Each volunteer made a video recording and slide show presentation about their career. Topics included the pros and cons of their job, any education or training received, and the type of services their work provides. Thank you to all of our volunteers for giving our students this “virtual” career day experience!
Here’s what a few students had to say:
“My favorite career that I learned about on career day is veterinary medicine. I think it’s very important to take care of animals.” - Ella Stoner
“I really liked the veterinary medicine video because I liked how people help animals that need medical attention. One day I want to be a vet and help animals, but I really want to help a horse that is hurt or needs medical attention.” -Valeria Roman-Reyes
“I really enjoyed career day because it inspired me to start thinking about the career I want to pursue. My favorite career videos were from the veterinarian and the police officer, because they were both very interesting.” -Caleb Reheard

If a payment by personal check is returned to the School District, marked “Non-Sufficient Funds” (NSF), the School District will reverse the credit to the student’s account in the amount of the original check.
