Quick note
Second semester is off to a fantastic start! We have added some new students and staff to our building and look forward to all of the learning on the horizon. Here are some updates.
Staffing Update
Faith Polomoscanik has joined our staff as a para educator supporting the Lighthouse Program. She is excited to join Team Miller and we are excited she is here!
Abigail Pezold is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who began the first week in January. She is supporting the Occupational Therapy department, working directly with students and supporting in classrooms. We are glad you are here!
Jason Rempel and Lain Britt are new additions to the facilities department on Team Miller serving as Night Custodians. We are so glad you are here!
Construction Update
We continue to partner with Jeffco facilities and our partners at MOA around the design of the future Fletcher Miller building. Recent discussions have focused on:
Playground and outdoor areas
Therapy spaces
Hygiene Areas
Shared Instructional Areas
Visit from the Sheriffs department
Adapted Athletics
Middle School, Secondary and lighthouse had the opportunity to participate in the Adapted Athletic Basketball event at Pomona High School. This is an opportunity to connect with fellow students from other schools. The students love getting to be part of the team and have fun.
Lighthouse
Social Emotional Group
Mr. Zach does a social emotional group with our preschool classroom. They work on how we all have feelings and we can feel differently at the same time. What are some ways we can express how we feel and how we can make ourselves feel better.
Art, Music and Physical Education Paras
We would like to take the moment to highlight our Paras that help out in our Specials classes. These Paras see all the students from K through 12th grade. They are able to create special bonds and assist students with fun learning opportunities. We appreciate their care and creativity every day!
