Last week, we observed Ash Wednesday which begins the season of Lent, the 40 days leading up to Easter. Lent provides an opportunity for Christians to focus on repentance and reconciliation with God. This is often observed through spiritual practices such as fasting and prayer.

Questions to consider as you prepare your heart for the season of Lent:

1. Have you ever experienced a season of life in which you lost or lacked something which allowed you to seek God more? (Matthew 4:1-11)

2. When you acknowledge your own sin does it cause you to mourn? (Psalm 38:1-22)

3. Do you regularly confess your sin to God? Do you regularly confess your sin to other trusted believers? (1 John 1:5-10, James 5:13-20)
