Attendance Make-Up Hours and Saturday School
In Texas, a child between the ages of 6 and 19 is required to attend school unless otherwise exempted by the law. To receive credit in a class, a student must attend at least 90% of the days the class is offered. A student who attends fewer than 90% of the days the class is offered will be in “No Credit” status for the class (even if the class is passed).
Students can make up hours in tutorials, after school detention, and Saturday School. Students with more than 8hrs will complete their hours in Saturday School. Students will have a make up hour log for teachers to sign in they complete hours in tutorials. Hours can not be completed in club meetings, athletics, and or during class time. Make-up hours can only be complete before school , after school, or during Saturday School. Make-up hours can be completed with any teacher.
Saturday School sessions are from 8am-12n on the following dates this semester at Jarrell Middle School. Transportation is not provided.

We’re going to Panama in Summer 2025, and you’re invited!
Dear families,
We’re excited to tell you more about the trip we’re planning with EF Tours, our educational travel partner. Please be sure to register for this info session to be considered for this opportunity: https://bit.ly/3Sr0LE9
When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. These skills are critical for creating the global citizens of tomorrow, and we would love to have your student join us on this adventure.
In this info session, we’ll talk about:
- How this opportunity will benefit your student
- What we’ll see and do on our trip
- Everything that’s included in this experience
- How your child can earn academic credit
- How we’re keeping this safe and affordable
- How to enroll on this trip (before it fills up!) during EF’s risk-free enrollment period
There are limited spots on this trip, so we would love to have you attend this meeting to learn more about this exciting opportunity!
Thanks,
Coach Bobo

Student Attendance
Absences/Attendance Regular school attendance is essential for a student to make the most of his or her education— to benefit from teacher led and school activities, to build each day’s learning on the previous day’s, and to grow as an individual.
When a student is absent, the student must bring a note to the attendance office within three days of the absence. After three days, parent notes may not be accepted and the absences will be considered unexcused. A maximum of three (3) parent notes per semester will be accepted as excused.
