Principal's Message
Hello Murwood Families,
Today was such a wonderful first day of school! It was great to see the smiling faces of our students as they made their way to class. Our teachers created meaningful opportunities for students to build positive connections with their classmates and their teachers. After meeting with parents for coffee this morning, I had the opportunity to visit classes throughout the day and observe the many wonderful lessons helping students learn routines and build classroom community. We truly have an all-star team of educators, that are truly dedicated to our students.
I want to thank you for your patience as we continue to fine tune our routines and procedures. We appreciate your support in helping your student/s find their way to their classroom today.
We ask that you 'fade' your support by the second week of school.
Safety: When school is in session, our campus is closed. All visitors must sign in in the office, and get a visitors' badge. Volunteers must complete the Volunteer Training Module, which will be shared soon.
Some reminders for dropping off/picking up your student:
- Safety first! Please remember to use the sidewalk and cross walks when walking to and from campus.
- Please take the first few days of school to teach them where you will drop them off in the morning and where you expect them to go/wait in the afternoon.
- All campus visitors must sign in in the office.
- When driving to pick up your student please pull all the way forward. We will send your child to your car. This will help alleviate the traffic back up on Vanderslice.
I hope you have also had a moment to learn more about WCEF (wcefk12.org), our valued nonprofit and fundraising district partner. More than 40 parents, including Murwood parents just like you, volunteer their time and expertise to fundraise, bring awareness about funding, and help give our students a more well-rounded education. A huge thank you to our WCEF Site Reps: Kate Loftus, Nicole Main and Tricy Otten for all they do! If you have any questions about how your donations transform our school please do not hesitate to say hi, or ask me! I am so grateful for what donations to WCEF make possible for all students.
Thank you for helping us make this a wonderful year.
