Dear Bobcat Families,
Tryouts for Fall athletics went well last week. Many students showed up and tried their best. Tryout results will be communicated this week. Team rosters will be posted no later than Friday, September 8, 2023. Brea Junior High School is part of Fullerton's competitive sports league which makes tryouts essential for our school. There were multiple students trying out for a limited amount of spots on the team. Should your student not make the team, please encourage him/her to try out for future BJH sports. All posted rosters will be final.
Thank you to all parents who submitted an interest in School Site Council participation. I appreciate all parents who took time out of their busy schedule to virtually vote. Here are the results of the School Site Council Parent Vote. Teachers and Classified staff have also received virtual nomination forms. They will vote in the coming weeks as well for their School Site Council representatives(s).

Here are some important events this week:
NO SCHOOL
- There is no school, Monday, September 4, 2023 in observance of Labor Day. Normal school hours will resume on Tuesday, September 5th.
LATE START
- Every Wednesday is Late Start. School starts at 8:30 on Wednesdays.
COFFEE WITH THE PRINCIPAL
- The first Coffee with the Principal meeting is this Thursday at 5:00 p.m. Parents can join the meeting in person, in the school library of virtually using this zoom link https://bousd-us.zoom.us/j/84190223850?pwd=MjFkems1Mi9kRjFnemo5ZVZXc1Zydz09. The meeting is from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Come meet other parents and learn more about BJH goals, academic focus areas for the year and more.
NEWCOMER SOCIAL
- This Friday a Newcomer Social will be held for all students new to the school district. The event will take place during 7th period. Students new to BOUSD will enjoy this ASB hosted event filled with games, snacks and good times!
PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION (PTA)
- The Brea Junior High School PTA is having open enrollment for PTA. Please support BJH by joining the PTA. Click HERE to join. Homeroom classes with the highest percentage of membership by October 6th will receive a donut party.
- The first PTA meeting will take place on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in room E-30. Your voice matters!
