Sinaloa Weekly Update Feb. 11, 2024
Happy Lunar New Year!
Good Evening All Sinaloa Families,
Happy Lunar New Year to all of our families that celebrate this holiday. The Sinaloa Family hopes this new year brings you good fortune, peace and prosperity.
Our 5 week Progress Reports will be available to view through Aeries on Monday 2/12/24. Since these are progress reports Eligibility for Volleyball will be based off of the Semester grades.
We know that there is always a lot of excitement surrounding Valentine's Day, but if a student has balloons, flowers, or stuffed animals which cannot fit in their lockers we will ask them to keep those in the office and they can pick them up afterschool. Large items like balloons, stuffed animals and flowers are distracting to the learning environment. Parents, please help us by encouraging your children to do something simple if they choose to celebrate Valentine's Day.
REMINDER: There is NO SCHOOL Friday Feb. 16th or Monday Feb. 19th for the President's Day Holiday.
REGISTRATION for OUR CURRENT STUDENTS - Our counselors will be going into the students current history classes to explain the registration process during the week of Feb. 20th. They will return at a later date to pick up the students' registration form.
SINALOA MIDDLE SCHOOL STARTS AT 8:00 AM - This is just a friendly reminder that our first period of the day starts at 8:00 AM and our expectation is that all students are on campus with enough time to put the backpacks in their lockers and get to class. We are seeing a large amount of students tardy to their A block on a daily basis. If this continues to be a problem we will hold a parent conference to help find solutions for the tardiness to school.
NEW FENCES & GATES - Our fences and gates are in place and we will be implementing our new procedures with certain gates open at different times of the day. The pedestrian gate by the fire road will not be opened during drop off to encourage parents to drive all the way down to the locker hallway so we can get more cars off of Royal Ave. and into our parking lot. Once the school day starts all of the gates except those by the stairs will be closed and locked. At the end of the day all pedestrian gates will be opened to allow our students to be dismissed in a timely manner.
Valentine's Day is Weds. please don't bring extravagant gifts

We will have a short week the next two weeks in celebration of President's Day. Please use the time we are at school to learn the concepts you need to be successful. As we get closer to spring we will start ramping up for the Physical Fitness test for our 7th graders and the CAASPP testing for all of our students. Our teachers will start practicing the interim tests with their students so we can help students feel comfortable when they take the CAASPP tests. We encourage all of our students to participate in these tests so they can be prepared for the future standardized test they will be required to take to get into colleges or even to qualify for certain careers.
If we have any families that need assistance with school supplies or other materials please use the two buttons below for assistance.
Sincerely,
Principal Shawn Rumble
