Senior Soft Skills Challenge
The Indiana County Chamber of Commerce, ARIN IU28, and Indiana Area SD have partnered together to create a Senior Soft Skills Challenge for all high school seniors in Armstrong and Indiana counties. (Click the button below for more information.)
Based on feedback from businesses and school counselors, the event will be held on dates between March 13-31. ARIN IU 28 has received grant funding to offset the cost of transporting your seniors one one of those dates from your high school to Indiana, PA for the event.
If your district is interested in participating, we ask that you please click here and identify the date choices that work best for your district by Friday, February 17, 2023. Once all interested districts have responded, I'll reach out to your identified contact person with more details about your scheduled day and transportation funds.

PVAAS
Roster verification is a process used to provide PVAAS teacher-specific reporting based on accurate data. This process is for teachers and administrators to document and verify that each student is linked accurately to one or more teachers – for the correct state assessment(s) and the appropriate proportion of instructional responsibility.
Three separate webinars will be offered in winter and spring 2023 for focused learning and support of the different parts of roster verification. Registration links can be found on the PDE PVAAS roster verification page.
Looking at Recovery Data in PVAAS
There is a free e-resource available to LEAs and schools that explains how to explore the impact of unfinished teaching and learning as well as recovery trends within the PVAAS web application. This e-resource goes through key reports, step-by-step instructions to view them, and guiding questions to consider when looking at the data.

District Assessment Data & PVAAS Working Together! Webinar
Your LEA/district/school may have local assessment data in a web-based system with a range of reporting. Your LEA/district/school may also have a data warehouse with many different screens and reports. If these data resources already exist, why would your LEA/district want to take the time to upload our locally administered assessment data into PIMS to receive PVAAS reporting based on our locally administered assessments? Answers to these questions will be the focus of this session. A Pennsylvania district administrator will describe how this information, along with their local assessment data and data warehouse, added to their range of their data sources to enhance their local decision-making.
