Many thanks to Carissa Williams for putting together our Valerius Bingo Night, to all the volunteers who came to help, to the teachers who came to spend time with our families and do some BINGO calling, and to all the families who came out for a fun night!

The next dine out night will be MONDAY, Feb. 3rd at Pizza Ranch. Special guest servers, our 5th graders, will be there to assist you with your meal. I hope to see many familiar Valerius faces fill the Urbandale Pizza Ranch!

In my previous weekly I accidentally wrote Tuesday, instead of Monday. My apologies for any confusion.

Kids are loving the new Valerius swag. It's fun to see all the signs in the hallways, and the things students are doing to get their wristband!

BINGO cards have been passed out. Once your student fills up a BINGO they can bring their sheet to the office for a one of a kind, KINDNESS IS CONTAGIOUS, wristband (as pictured). These wristbands were designed by our January Valerius Kindness Crew! Way to go fifth graders!

The Kindness Crew's goal is for all of our students to earn one of these in the next week!

Valerius conference nights are coming up quickly. Look for an email this week for sign ups. Conferences will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 11th and Thursday, Feb. 13th.

In conjunction with conferences will be the Valerius book fair! Be sure to stop in the library and check it out.

Progress Cards will be sent home on Friday, February 28th.

This year, we will be celebrating friendship at Valerius on Friday, February 14th. PTO is providing teachers with paper bags, stickers and decorations, a snack and a bottle of water. Teachers will run a friendship party during the day and students can exchange Valentine's to bring home.

You are invited to send Valentine's to school with your student that day. Teachers will be sending home a list of first names this week to help you.
