TAC Starts Working Towards “TAC 2027 Strategic Plan” and “TAC Alumni Profile”
As TAC, one of our priorities is constant self-improvement and growth. We can proudly share that we are prepared for the changing circumstances in every field globally and for the rapidly advancing digital world.
Considering the changes happening around the world, we may need to revisit, revise and perhaps even rewrite our school's vision, mission and goals. A school's vision statement is an inspiring statement which determines what the school wants to achieve. The mission statement helps explain how it will achieve what it sets out to do in its vision. Goals, on the other hand, define specific ways in which the school mission will be achieved. In this regard, in addition to the "TAC 2027 Strategic Plan," it is also planned to create a "TAC Alumni Profile". In this process, a series of sessions has been scheduled which involve all stakeholders such as students, employees, parents, alumni and the foundation in this process of revisiting, revising and rewriting. I am happy to share that I will lead the work of different stakeholder groups in these structured sessions as we ensure everyone's contribution and synthesize the feedback we will receive from the school community.
We are aware that this process, which will enable us to maintain our status as a leading educational institution, will be long-term and will require a great deal of effort.
The first meetings of the four sessions, which are planned to be held in the next few months, started this week. I would like to thank and extend my regards to the entire TAC family for their support and engagement in the meetings which started with parents, alumni and staff.

"No Backpack Day": A TAC Student Council Initiative That Made Us Smile
Organized by the TAC Student Council, the first "No Backpack Day" at TAC was quite entertaining. On this day where students were expected to use alternatives to their backpack to carry their school materials, there were some very creative ideas. It was a colorful day in the school garden with students who came with a guitar case, shoe box, basket, bird cage and even a pan. We would like to thank the Student Council members, who shared their plan to include Tarsus SEV middle school and primary school students, with whom we share a campus, in this initiative next year. We are looking forward to their next exciting project!
International ROBOTEX Competition
Efe İnan, one of TAC’s IBDP students, participated in the international robotics competition held in Estonia. Efe, who was selected as a speaker on the live broadcast in the Conference section, made the most of the opportunity as he presented his project titled 'Charging Electric Vehicles While Driving'. We congratulate Efe for this undertaking this project which makes us proud and wish him continued success.
TAC MUN Club Students Successfully Represent TAC at TIMUN 2022
TAC’s MUN students successfully represented the school at the first face-to-face TIMUN conference which resumes after two years. TAC was represented by nine students who impressed the participants with their English skills. Representing Saudi Arabia, TAC students stood out with their strong public speaking skills in group discussions and their detailed analysis of the role and position of the country they represented in global issues. The primary purpose of such conferences is to provide students with the opportunity to develop their self-confidence and research skills. We congratulate our students who made the most of this opportunity and wish them continued success.
Sustainable Development Goals
The presentation on “Sustainable Development Goals” took place on November 25, 2022 in Haydar Gofer Auditorium with prep classes.
The live connection with Yağmur Acıoğlu Genç, who represented Turkey in New York at the 23rd Youth Assembly workshop of the United Nations in 2019 and is currently working as a consultant at GIZ (German International Cooperation Organization), provided students the opportunity to find out more about these goals with responses to their questions. The conversation with Genç helped raise student awareness on the subject.
This event, which illustrated various cases while helping students develop their listening and communication skills, was organized by Ms. Aslı Akın, one of the Turkish Language and Literature teachers. We would like to thank everyone who contributed, especially our guest, Yağmur Acıoğlu Genç.
Ari Turunen, the Author “the History of Arrogance”, and Özge Acıoğlu, the Translator of the Book, Joined Our “Book Talks” Online
“Who am I to arrogantly criticize other people's work and mistakes? Arrogance is such a thing that it can haunt anyone. It is even arrogant to claim that you are not arrogant at all. This vice has been portrayed in various epics, myths and tragedies of many ancient cultures.”
The first one of the book talks titled “One Teacher, One Book” was hosted on Tuesday, November 29. While Ms. Özlem Özdemir, one of the Turkish Language and Literature teachers, shared from the book “The History of Arrogance”, we were honored by the participation of the author of the book, Ari Turunen and the translator of the book into Turkish, Özge Acıoğlu, in the event via live broadcast. The conversation with our guests was very enjoyable and enlightening, as they answered our questions on books, experience of an author, its translation, and the process of publishing the book in Turkey.
The next host of our book talks will be Mr. Çağrı Solak, another Turkish Language and Literature teacher, who will bring students and teachers together in Korkut Beriker Library for a discussion on John Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men". Stay tuned!
