Happy New Year!
Congratulations you have made it to your final Semester of High School. The official start date for semester 2 is January 13th and live classes will begin on January 17th.
Below is information about colleges, scholarships, and more. We are sharing the information with you as we receive it. Please make sure to check your homeroom page in Schoology for updates.
Now is the time to complete your applications for College and Financial Aid. Also, make sure you complete your IGP with your Senior Counselor.
Colleges have added virtual information sessions to the admissions portion of their websites. Please look at these to take a look at the campuses. You can also schedule in person tours with them!

Virtual SC Registration
The South Carolina Department of Education offers Virtual SC (VSC), a FREE online learning program for students who attend school in South Carolina. They offer many courses that we do not offer here at South Carolina Virtual Charter School (SCVCS).
* This is not a requirement; it's just an option. www.virtualsc.org - However, if you failed a required graduation credit you need to reach out to your counselor and see if you need to take the class through VirtualSC.

South Carolina Federal Credit Union Scholarship -
South Carolina Federal Credit Union is awarding a total of $45,000 to nine deserving students. We are looking for hardworking and dedicated students in South Carolina planning to pursue a post-secondary degree in fall 2023. Deadline February 1st.
South Carolina Federal Credit Union Scholarship
Archibald Rutledge Scholarship Program The South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) is announcing the Archibald Rutledge Scholarship Program. This annual program offers twelfth-grade students in public schools the opportunity to compete for a scholarship valued at approximately $2,000. The purpose of the competition is to encourage and recognize academic and artistic excellence. Scholarships are awarded and applicants may participate in one of the following discipline areas: creative writing, dance, music, theatre, or visual arts. To compete, students should submit an original and two copies of the original composition and process folio for the creative writing, dance, music, or theatre categories. For the visual arts category, mail one original composition, and a process folio. Entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. or postmarked on or before Monday, February 21, 2022.
Award: $2000
Deadline: February 21, 2023
Lyceum Program at Clemson University
Lyceum Scholars Program offers $10,000 scholarships for undergraduates to study the moral, political, and economic foundations of a free society. But the program offers much more beyond the classroom.
Driver Education Initiative Scholarship
Criteria: Applicant must be a current high school student with plans to attend a college or university. Essay is required. Only essays with a minimum word limit of 500 words will be accepted. For additional information click here: https://www.dmvedu.org/scholarship/

Make the U Scholarship
Criteria: Applicant must be a Hispanic or Latino high school senior with plans to attend college in the fall or 2023.
They must be a U.S. Citizen, legal permanent resident or DACA eligible and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
