As you are probably aware, next week is HMS MAP testing. Students have been preparing for the assessment for weeks (really all year). So... the question begs...what happens after MAP testing?
In one word….FUN.
HMS will have a daily drawing for students who put in good faith and effort for EACH MAP testing day. Food, drinks, and prizes will be given daily, but students first need to ATTEND and GIVE THEIR BEST EFFORT to be eligible for prizes.
Students complete a MAP self evaluation, and grade their own efforts, and teachers help determine that students met their mark. If students give HMS their best effort, they will be able to participate in a school wide celebration day on both May 18th and 19th.
On the 18th, HMS students will go outside to participate in team Survivor challenges, get fed, and conclude the day with indoor celebrations.
On May 19th, students will complete the Survivor challenges indoors, compete in other wacky games, and win prizes. BUT REMEMBER, students must give their best effort during MAP testing...and THAT is next week.
May 20th, the last day of school, is a half day, and its also a “Lets Make a Deal” competition, with yearbook signings, and a corn dog lunch. Parents, please help get your child excited for next week, and focus
