The first day of school may not have been the same, but it sure felt wonderful to see our students and teachers back on campus. The halls are little more quiet than we like and the normal hustle and bustle of the school year is subdued, but it is still wonderful to see our familiar faces.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and understanding on the re-opening of schools. We know it has been a challenge on so many levels for our staff and families but we are still excited for the new year. We can overcome any challenge if we work together and I have seen an incredible level of collaboration to make this happen for our students.

Attendance

If your child is going to be absent but plans to check into all classes and work on school work from home, you may switch them to virtual by logging into Genesis and clicking the "request to convert to full virtual instruction" form. The parent must fill out the form in Genesis - and then once your child is returning you must go back into Genesis and fill out the "revoke request for full virtual" form.

If your child is sick and will not be working from home, please email or call Ms. Cappiello at dcappiello@northwarren.org or 1 (908) 362-8211 X 1303 to report your child's absence for the day.

Bus Arrivals

This is a reminder that busses may arrive at the stop a few mintues later than normal and also arrive back a few minutes later than normal. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding with this change. Hopefully after another week of bus runs we will have a more standard timeframe.

FOR ALL STUDENTS WHO ARE FULLY VIRTUAL

There will be an opportunity to pick up textbooks from 9AM to 11AM on Tuesday, Sept 8, Thursday, Sept. 10 and Friday, Sept 11. Parents will be asked to come to the front lobby of the school, go through the check-in protocols and then pick up your child's textbooks by course. Please have your child communicate to their teacher if a textbook is needed for their particular course.

Attendance

All students need to sign in DAILY for attendance for each class whether you are on-site, virtual for the day or fully virtual. Each teacher will take attendance daily in the respective Google Classrooms. Also, you must sign in for attendance before the end of the school day for your day to count as present.

Be Prepared!

When you are on-site, bring your Chromebook charged and ready to go. Your daily routine should consist of checking your school email, Google Classrooms and Calendar each day.

Go Guardian

As a reminder, all student Chromebooks are equipped with Go Guardian. Students should only use their school issued device for academic purposes. All accounts are monitored by the school.
