The U.I.L. Region 25 Solo and Ensemble Contest will be held at Plano East Senior High on

Saturday, February 17, 2024. Plano East Senior High is located at 3000 Los Rios Blvd.,

Plano, TX 75074. Brass/Woodwind events will be held in Building 4 and Woodwind/Percussion events will be in Building A (Fine Arts).

Please come dressed in business casual (CLICK HERE FOR DEFINITION OF BUSINESS CASUAL) 30-45 minutes prior to your assigned time so you can locate your room, warm-up, and check-in with your accompanist if necessary. If there are any issues, problems, accompanist conflicts, an AHS/LFC band staff member will be available to help in the Contest Office (Library). If there are conflicts or problems, the band staff is there to help and resolve issues.

Mr. Camp will communicate final details to the guard in his weekly announcements. All members in the band program are encouraged to support the Allen Colorguard at their performances at the Dallas WGI Regional Contest at Coppell High School. As of 2/11/24 the Saturday Prelims performances are: JV at 1:49pm and Varsity at 5:09pm. The finals round will be on Sunday. CLICK HERE for the WGI Dallas Information Page.

Congratulations to our All-State students for outstanding performances this weekend at the Texas Music Educators Association in San Antonio.

There will not be class conflicts with Dual Credit and STEAM classes. Do not assume that next year's band, Dual credit, or STEAM classes are the same class periods as this year. Please let Dr. Obado know if your name is not listed and planning on being in band next year.

The 2024 Nomination Committee is currently seeking applicants that are interested in serving on the Allan Band Booster booster Association executive board for the 2024-25 school year. Please take a moment to look over the application, and fill it out if you are interested in serving on next year's board in any capacity. If you have any questions you can email the Nominating Committee at nominations@allenband.com. Deadline to fill out the application is February 16. Application HERE.

If you are interested in trying out for drum major or SLT, we will begin our training/workshops after Spring Break. They will be held (mostly) on Wednesdays from 4:30pm-6pm in the AHS Band Hall. The first 45 minutes will be general leadership/SLT training and the second 45 minutes will be specific training for drum majors. AHS & LFC Wind Ensembles will be required to attend the first 45 minutes of the SLT workshops as part of their Musicianship Class.
