All MEA students and families are invited to help. We hope you can join us! Please sign up here for one or more hour long sessions. Students in grades K-5 must be accompanied by an adult. Once completed, the official unveiling/celebration of the space will be held on June 8.

Community Announcements
EnviroLiteracy Taskforce
Hello everyone.
This is Daanya and Sabine, your EnviroLiteracy Taskforce Reps.
As representatives for Mt. Everest Academy, Sabine and I have taken it upon ourselves to try and bring topics that may not be as obvious, to light. As mentioned in our previous message, we have started a blog to shed light on many environmental problems.
Please check it out as we hope it will benefit this community and our environment in the future. Our first post is about something close to home: the California Drought!
https://540691.wixsite.com/meaelt
A long-term goal that we are looking forward to is a nativite garden. This is an initiative which both Sabine and I will work towards alongside Ria Rizo.
An update to this project is that we have registered our school’s grounds for our Native Garden Project with the San Diego Unified School District who will be providing us with Green Waste Bins, as well as, hopefully, clearing out an invasive Brazilian Pepper Tree.
We will be working on our own time, but would love volunteers, so please look out for future messages and timings for our volunteer events!
Thank you for taking time to listen to our efforts and we hope you will support us through this journey.
Feel free to approach our team around campus anytime with questions, concerns, or requests!
To a sustainable future.
Kindly,
MEA EnviroLiteracy Taskforce Representatives
Daanya Hussain
Project 25 - Lyme Disease
I am Luke Steel, a 9th grader at MEA. I, along with Project 25, am raising awareness of Lyme disease which I have personally battled with. Lyme disease affects about 500,000 annually in the United States and is often misdiagnosed especially on the West Coast. I have created a website with information, as well as personal accounts, of Lyme disease. My website is still growing and in the future I will be adding interviews with several specialists and doctors that are experienced in the field.

Please send any information for the Monday Message using the Google form by end of day Thursday for upcoming message. If you have any question please contact Mrs. Keck at mkeck@sandi.net.
