Prayer
In this short excerpt from Jesus' farewell address given at the Last Supper in John's Gospel, Jesus reveals the deepest desire of his heart: that his disciples love one another. He proclaims this as new command. But what is new about it? The command to love one another was ancient; it was already clearly stated in Israel's law. In Leviticus 19:18 we read: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." But now Jesus' followers must do even more. They must do more than love others as they love themselves. Now they must love others as Jesus has loved them.
Of course, the disciples will not understand the breadth of this command until they see Jesus crucified and understand that his has given his life for their sakes. Then they will understand that laying down one's life for others is the standard of Christian life. They will understand the full impact of this new command.
What is a Christian? Quite simply, a Christian is someone who loves others as Jesus loves. This answer contains within it all other facets of the Christian life. To truly love as Jesus loves, we must have faith in him; we must have hope; we must know his life, death and resurrection; we must pray; we must be ruled by the Spirit.

The New Garden
Fr. Agnel's old rose garden area is going to be transformed into a lovely vegetable garden. The Student Council will be working with Miss Morison on this project. We do need parent support. The first stage is to gather milk/juice cartons to start growing plants. Please send clean cartons with your child to school. Thanks for your support.
