Motivational Monday
From Superintendent Dr. Michael Triplett
Good morning, Viking Family,
I am absolutely elated to have spent my first week in the district listening, learning, and having amazing conversations with many of you. In my travels, I have observed many strengths and some areas of opportunity. Although I’ve not made my way around to all schools, trust and believe I will, and will do so on a regular basis. The Senior Leadership Team (SLT) is committed to visiting at least two schools per week to hear from you and build better relationships with staff, children, and the families of this community.
I am actively immersing myself in learning about all NSC’s operations to better understand the practices, procedures, and routines associated with how to better support the entire school district. In the upcoming days, you will be able to view my Entry Plan. Additionally, in the upcoming weeks and months, the cabinet will revisit the district’s strategic plan to ensure that we are working to complete the goals set forth for improving student outcomes, increasing student participation in co/extracurricular activities, and improving district/school-wide communication.
One of my top priorities is not only to pay close attention to the culture and climate in Central Office but also the culture and climate in our school buildings as well. This includes safety, relationships, teaching and learning, the environment, and larger organizational patterns (e.g., from fragmented to shared; healthy or unhealthy). What we do and how we feel about it matters deeply. We will be an organization where ideas are shared freely, and communication flows regularly between all stakeholders. As we look to the future, whether as a student, parent or guardian, or professional, know that I value your partnership and look forward to collaborating to achieve the goals we set forth.
NSC will once again be an educational institution that families trust and love and where people will be beating down the doors to become a part of. This will take time, so be patient as we work toward the future.
This week, I challenge each of you to be more than Change Agents. Let’s respect, build trust, and support each other. Get out of your own way and allow your greatness to show. Our babies deserve that much.
Together We Can, Together We Will Be Game Changers.
Sincerely,
Dr. Michael Triplett
