Cameron Ranch Falcon Connection
October 2023 Edition
Greetings Falcon Community,
Fall is in the air!
Our Families First Friday event is kicking off on 10/6/23. See the attached flyer for details to accompany your child(ren) during their morning routine, meet other families, and join Principal Sloss in the library to learn about our October events and ways to get involved.
During the month of October, our school-wide focus of respect will be highlighted across campus. The leadership students introduced the respect theme during our first community assembly last week by sharing examples with the whole school. Freddy the Falcon (school mascot) stopped by for a visit, which was a huge hit! October also brings additional opportunities for students to discover more about their place in the world by exploring our hands-on library learning lab materials (image below), on seasonal rhythms and changes.
This month we will begin our after school soccer club (details below to register), host Literacy Night on 10/19 from 5:30-6:30, continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage, engage in fun-filled theme days the week of 10/25-10/29 (details shared soon), and of course, enjoy more field trips!
***HIGHLIGHT ***
On October 27, during the school day, we will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Garden of Learning during our annual Harvest Festival. All classes will have the opportunity to join the celebration, along with community members, volunteers and sponsors who have dedicated time and funding over the years. Family volunteers will be needed, so please keep an eye out to sign-up and help (coming soon)!
Each month I will add a variety of resources to the Falcon Connection to support your needs. Don't forget to scroll though the information below.
Warmly,
Principal Aliceon Sloss
