Recess Outdoor Education Fun!
Outdoor Education at Fairfield!
Next week, Ernestown Elementary School will be bringing over a group of High School students from all Limestone High Schools, to take a 2 day CHAIN SAW course. They will be in our school learning about chain saw safety on Tuesday and will be out in our forest on Tuesday and Wednesday getting rid of dead wood, clearing paths and wood chipping. We can't wait to see the results!
We will be allowing, on a class by class basis, the use of the forest at recess and will be using the forest for classroom lessons, too!
We recommend that you take the following precautions to protect your child from ticks:
- Dress your child in light-colored long-sleeved shirts and long pants.
- Apply a tick repellent on your child's skin and clothes.
- Conduct a tick check on your child's body each evening.
As the good weather approaches we hope we can teach our school about nature, the environment and outdoor play!
Coding Club's robot, Charlie, has been worked on for 4 months and is almost ready!
Welcome Mme Tosun!

Class Building
We are in the very early stages of starting to organize for the upcoming school year. This includes staffing (how many classrooms, teacher placements), timetables and new registrations. Our planning also addresses tentative class placements for next year.
The creation of classes is a very complex task that takes into account many factors. When determining placements for next year we consider learning and academic needs, emotional and social needs, friendships, personalities, and class size to name just a few of the factors.
We recognize that, in a few individual cases, there may be important reasons why a specific placement is necessary. In these cases, we request that you submit a written request directly to Mrs. Duncan indicating the reasons for your request. The request should identify the optimal conditions for your child’s success, as this will help to inform class placement decisions.
We will do our best to accommodate your child’s needs but cannot guarantee specific placements at this time. All written requests must be received no later than Friday, May 12th. These can be emailed to duncanm@limestone.on.ca or dropped off at the front office.
Just a friendly reminder that all class lists and placements are tentative until at least the middle of September 2023.
