Friday Update
Happy Friday
Hello Foster's Finest,
I hope you have all had a great first week of school. I know it has been wonderful for me to hear the sounds of the students in the school. Summertime can be a lonely time for building principals, so for me, it is always special to welcome our students back to begin another year of learning.
I want to make sure our community is aware of the building project information. I have included the dates and times of Town Halls and Tours of Foster. If you know of someone who does not live in the Foster Elementary district, but they are seeking information about the project, these are great opportunities for people to ask questions and gather information.
PTO Information
September 19 @ 7 PM will be our first PTO Meeting of the school year. The meeting will be held at the Greenside Grill, 274 South Street, Hingham. Please RSVP to Melissa Sadler at sadler.melissa@icloud.com so we have a head count of those who will be in attendance.
Drop Off/Pick-up
The procedures that we have put into place have been working perfectly. We have one request, if you arrive early please do not peek into the classroom windows. It is distracting to students and disrupts the end of the day instruction and learning that is happening. We appreciate your help with this.
Here are the current procedures for entering and exiting the school for our students:
Kindergarten will enter and exit through the door at the car loop.
Grade 1 will enter through the front door and exit through the classrooms near the bike rack.
Grades 2-5 will enter and exit through the front door of the school.
Curriculum Nights
We are excited to welcome grades 1-5 students and their parents/guardians to Foster. We ask that you do not bring siblings to the event as we have limited space in the classrooms. We want to make sure every family is included and fit comfortably in the classrooms. Please come to your assigned grade level at the start of the assigned time slot. We have staggered the times so that you could be in the grade level at the beginning of each session if you have children in multiple grades.
Kindergarten is slightly different in that we ask that you come without your child. Families had the opportunity to visit the classroom with the children at orientation. We want to be able to answer any new questions that you may have, especially for students and families who are new to the Foster Elementary School. If you have a sibling who is coming for their grade level event, they are welcome to go to kindergarten with you. The Kindergarten teachers will be happy to answer any questions about the curriculum night.
Curriculum nights will be held on the following dates and times:
September 14
Grade 2 (6-7 PM)
Grade 3 (6:30-7:30 PM)
Grade 5 (7-8:00 PM)
September 21
Grade 1 (6-7 PM)
Grade 4 (6:30-7:30 PM)
Kindergarten (7-8 PM)
