Tierra Del Sol Request for Support

The opening reception for the CAEA Youth Art Month was held on March 3rd at the Bakersfield Art Association on 19th Street. Artwork from Tierra Del Sol students and students around Kern County is on display through March 31st at the Bakersfield Art Association Gallery at 1607 19th Street in Downtown Bakersfield.

TDS is offering a new Journalism class in 2023. Students will participate in a nationwide program with PBS and their Student Reporting Labs. The class allows students to learn about media, social media, and broadcasting. The class focuses on teaching media literacy skills, increasing civic engagement, all while allowing students to activate and amplify their voices through culturally responsive projects.

Mrs. Frazier is teaching the class during 5th period in rm. 511. Talk to your counselor if you’re interested in our Journalism class.

Great job competing this year in the 2022-2023 Overwatch 2 Season. Our AZTECS finished the season strong and were successful in team building, sportsmanship, and fair play. Esports resumes next Fall.

Our Leadership class (3rd period with Mrs. Coggshall) is busy coming up with fresh ideas for Wacky Wednesday and Fun Friday events. They are busy creating posters for Women's History Month, St. Patrick's Day, the Birthday bulletin board and the LGBTQ bulletin board.

Quarter 4 is here and ends on June 2. Seniors, stay on track this last quarter! You've got this!
