Dragon's Tale

A Message from Dr. A.
May 31, 2024
Hello Dragon Families
As we near the end of another school year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the journey we've shared together and express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support.
This year has been filled with countless moments of growth, learning, and community spirit. From the excitement of Field Day to the dedication of our PTA volunteers, your involvement has been instrumental in making each experience meaningful and memorable for our students. I extend my deepest appreciation to all the parent volunteers who generously offered their time, energy, and expertise to ensure the success of these events. Your commitment to our school community is truly inspiring and invaluable.
As we prepare to bid farewell to another group of remarkable students, I am filled with pride and admiration for the achievements and milestones they have reached during their time with us. Next week, we will have the honor of celebrating our fifth-grade students as they embark on the next chapter of their academic journey. It is a momentous occasion that symbolizes not only their individual accomplishments but also the collective efforts of our entire school community in nurturing and guiding them along the way.
Looking ahead, I am filled with optimism and excitement for the future of our school. Together, we have created a nurturing and supportive environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential. As we continue to work together, I am confident that we will build upon the successes of this year and create even more opportunities for growth, learning, and achievement in the years to come.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for your continued support, dedication, and partnership. It is because of your unwavering commitment to our school community that we are able to create a positive and enriching educational experience for all of our students. Thank you for continuing to support your child's academic growth over the summer by encouraging the love of reading. iReady summer lessons are also a great way to keep your child on track academically and avoid the summer slide. Please be sure to read our Dragon's Tale Newsletter for additional information about summer learning and upcoming events next week.
Wishing you a restful weekend with your kids and know that our PTA hopes to see you on the Keith playground tonight for our Bikes, Blades and Boards from 5-7pm.
Warm regards,
Marci Augenstein, Principal

Hospitality House Needs Our Help Now!
Hello Dragon Families,
If you might be out shopping this weekend, please keep the Hospital House in mind. Next week, we will have donation boxes located at the front entrance of the school. Before summer begins, I wanted to be sure we might help the Hospitality House stock up on needed items. They shared the following:
We are very low and currently in need of breakfast items. Pancake mix, cereal, oatmeal, syrup… Also we haven’t had jelly or jam in a long time.
Anything you can do to help donate food to our local families in need is appreciated. Thank you for your generosity.
Warm Regards,
Marci Augenstein
Field Day Message from Ms. Lepkowski
Hi Everyone! I am letting parents sign up for the station they wish to help with this year. If you are volunteering to work a station, please make sure you have a background check turned into the office ASAP. It can take a few days for them to be processed. If you already turned one in this year you can check with the office to make sure you are all set. This needs to be done EVERY YEAR. (last years doesn't work this year) Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you!

2024-2025 Kindergarten Information
Nature Awaits! We want to see your fourth grade students at a state park this spring!
Bring your fourth graders to a Michigan State Park for a FREE field trip! Your students will enjoy a day in the park while learning all about Michigan’s natural resources.
In addition to free park entry, grants will be available to cover transportation costs.
The field trip aligns with state education standards—including science, social studies, physical education and language arts components—with hands-on activities and a nature hike on park trails. Teachers will get pre- and post-visit materials to supplement the learning at the park, and students will leave with a junior ranger badge and guidebook, including a free pass to bring their families back to a state park for another visit.
