Hello Hilltopper Families!
Park has been buzzing with activity! Students wrapped up their MAP testing in Reading and Math and their growth is remarkable! Teachers are so excited with the students’ progress thanks in part to the collaboration between teachers and parents in nurturing student learning. Teamwork! In addition, there have been SO many wonderful events this week-a Free Harmony concert, Color Run lunches, popcorn and cupcake parties to winning fundraising classes, class picnics, King Kone walking field trips, third grade Great Lakes Science Center field trip and a visit to the Middle School. Phew!
Carson, a second grader, had the honor of being Principal for the Day last week! His outstanding fundraising efforts for the Color Run earned him this special role. As Principal, Carson led a fire/tornado drill, hosted the Weekly Wheel with TWO winners per grade level, enjoyed lunch with me, worked at the principal's desk, read to a first-grade class, explored the "teachers lounge," and even arranged an extra recess for everyone at the end of the day. Carson's enthusiasm was contagious, and he even hinted that he might consider pursuing a career in school administration one day. It was a memorable day for both Carson and me, who cherished the opportunity to spend time with such a remarkable young leader.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Makee
