Celebrating Catholic Schools Week!
This week, we have been joyfully celebrating Catholic Schools Week, a time to recognize and appreciate the many blessings of Catholic education.
We kicked off the week with our Student-Led Weekend Mass on Saturday, where our students did a fantastic job participating in the liturgy. Their leadership was met with many compliments, reflecting the strong faith foundation they are building. On Wednesday, we gathered for our Catholic Schools Week School Mass, where our students once again did an outstanding job leading. A special highlight was recognizing Becky Mudd as this year’s Shamrock Award recipient, honoring her dedication and service to our school community.
Throughout the week, students enjoyed fun dress-up days, bringing lots of school spirit and creativity to our halls. To celebrate the end of the week, students participated in exciting activities:
5th-8th graders went bowling
3rd and 4th graders enjoyed a movie
K-2nd graders attended a science assembly
A favorite tradition, the annual Staff vs. 8th Grade Volleyball Game, will take place on Friday morning at 9:30, bringing plenty of fun and friendly competition. We wrapped up the week with Bingo and Minute to Win It games during the afternoon on Friday, ensuring a memorable end to the celebrations.
We are so grateful for our wonderful parents who volunteered their time to cover recess and lunch duties and provided delicious food for our staff. Your support makes a difference! Catholic Schools are truly a great place to be, and this week has been a wonderful reminder of the faith, learning, and community that make St. Patrick Catholic School so special. Thank you to everyone who helped make Catholic Schools Week a success!
Blessings,
Mr. Wiebers

2024-25 Shamrock Award Recipient 🍀
Congratulations to Becky Mudd, our 2024-25 Shamrock Outstanding Volunteer Award Recipient. Becky has been an active member of our parish, as well as a consistent volunteer at St Patrick School, throughout the past 19 years. All 5 of Becky and Jim Mudd's children have attended St Patrick School, and throughout those years Becky has been a visible parent, active in our community and always willing to help in any area needed. Whether it's volunteering in the lunchroom, being a home room parent, helping with concessions or getting the library set up for Monday Morning Prayer, Becky has been active in finding ways to be involved in supporting our school community. Thank you, Becky! 🍀
Name That Plow Winners!
On Tuesday we had a visit from two of our cities finest snow plow drivers, who came to get a picture with the student winners of the 'Name That Plow' contest that the city of Cedar Falls held this past December. The winners were selected out of over 200 entries submitted by the public. There were 24 snowplows total in need of names. Nine snowplows were dedicated to the local elementary schools. The winners will each receive a pair of day passes to the Falls Aquatic Center for the 2025 season! Congratulations to Lucia Montgomery and Madeline Lahart for their winning submissions!

JA Volunteers Needed!
We are still looking for help leading some of our Junior Achievement classes this spring! Junior Achievement is a great opportunity for you to volunteer at the school this year. Contact Mrs. Grimm (kgrimm@cfcatholicschool.org) if you would like to sign up for class.
Junior Achievement (JA) volunteers are needed for the following classrooms:
Byers (K)
Rodden (1st/2nd)
Morris (3rd/4th)
Gross (5th/6th)
Wheelan (5th/6th)
Hill (5th/6th)
Junior Achievement provides fun and engaging teaching materials to classrooms, involving community volunteers as instructors. The goal is to help educate children in the areas of work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. As a volunteer, you will visit once a week for five weeks for 30-minute classes. Junior Achievement provides all the materials and training necessary to make the experience successful for the teachers, students, and you, as the volunteer. You will work out a specific schedule with the teacher you are with once placements are confirmed.
