This activity has brought together students of all abilities, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and supported. I also want to highlight the remarkable work of our students who lead the Strive Thru program at the high school. This student-run endeavor serves as a testament to their leadership abilities and our collective commitment to recognizing and celebrating the unique contributions of every individual within our school community. May is truly a month of celebration and reflection on our shared commitment to inclusivity and the incredible potential of embracing diversity. Shining Bright at HHHS Mini-Thon: Uniting for a Cure
Hatboro-Horsham's Mini-Thon was a resounding success, bringing together students for a day filled with excitement and purpose. Leading up to the event, high school students visited Simmons Elementary to educate younger students about Mini-Thon and its mission to raise funds for pediatric cancer research and support. This engagement sparked enthusiasm and preparedness among the participants.
On the day of Mini-Thon, the school was transformed into a host of activities, featuring a full-size Candyland game, dodgeball tournaments, a line dance session, Hungry Hungry Hippos, scavenger hunts, and much more. The atmosphere was electric with enthusiasm as students immersed themselves in the festivities, all while raising an impressive $21,700 for the cause.
Young Actors Embrace Reader's Theater
Throughout the academic year, Miss Basmajian's kindergarten class at Hallowell had the opportunity to delve into hands-on reader's theater. Under the guidance of Director Barry Dougherty, supported by the artist-in-residence program through the Hatboro-Horsham Education Foundation (HHEF), these young theater enthusiasts were able to flourish. The program had students explore various theatrical roles, acting techniques, and audition processes in a manner that was engaging and tailored to their age group. For their culminating project in the series, students engaged in a captivating exploration of storytelling. They heard multiple renditions of The Three Little Pigs, drawing inspiration and insights that fueled their creative journey as budding authors and illustrators. Harnessing the wisdom gleaned from these readings, they embarked on crafting their own imaginative tales—each student becoming the architect of their very own "Three Little..." storybook. These cherished creations will soon be unveiled and shared with Mr. Dougherty during his farewell visit.
Welcome 8th Graders to HHHS: Your Next Adventure Awaits
As the school year draws to a close, our eighth graders are eagerly anticipating their transition to high school next year. To prepare them for this exciting new chapter, the high school recently hosted our eighth graders with a range of engaging opportunities to explore what the next four years have in store. Extracurricular groups and curriculum tables were set up throughout the event, allowing students to learn about the diverse array of activities and subjects available at the high school. A student panel offered invaluable advice and insights, sharing personal experiences and answering questions to guide our eighth graders in their transition. Guided tours of the campus provided a firsthand look at the facilities and resources, helping students visualize themselves as part of the high school community. This event was instrumental in fostering excitement and confidence as our eighth graders prepare to embark on their high school journey.

In her first competition featuring 60 questions, Anna secured an impressive 1st place. She then triumphed at the district level with a 100-question contest, again claiming 1st place. Her journey culminated at the State level in Hershey, PA, where she faced a challenging 200-question competition and still managed an impressive 4th place finish statewide. Adam Walter-Archer
Senior Adam Walter-Archer, a passionate student enrolled in the Automotive Technology Program at the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology, has harbored a deep love for cars since childhood, often tinkering with vehicles alongside his cousin. Recently, his skills and dedication were recognized when he was selected to participate in the prestigious ADAGP (Auto Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia) automotive technology competition. Adam underwent specialized training at a local dealership in preparation for the event. The competition, known for its rigor, featured various challenging stations where participants had just 20 minutes to complete tasks such as inspection, alignment, demonstrating interviewing skills, and diagnosing a "crank no start" scenario. Notably, most competitors hailed from 4-year technical schools, whereas Eastern offers a comprehensive program in just 2 years. Undeterred, Adam's impressive performance secured his path forward, as he plans to continue his automotive education at the Automotive Training Center following graduation. His journey underscores both his talent and the exceptional training provided at Eastern, setting a promising course for his future in the automotive industry.
