News From Room 106
May 3, 2024
Families,
I can't believe we are in our final month of the school year! We have completed all of our online testing for the year! The students did an excellent job on both portions of the MSTEP and both portions of the NWEA-MAP! We do plan to have one more Social Studies and Math assessment before the year is over.
As a reminder, Third Grade will be taking a field trip to John Ball Zoo on May 10th. If you signed up to chaperone, and do not have a background check on file, please try to do so ASAP. Students who's chaperone does not have a background check on file, were all set home with one last week. Please make sure to let me know if you need another form.
Please be sure to watch the weather for our field trip. We will still plan to go if it is raining. Please help your student dress appropriately; along with appropriate shoes.
Have a great weekend,
Mrs. Arends

Students have completed our chapter on how Michigan grew as a state due to the impact logging, the rich soil, underground resources, and the improvement of transportation. We took our final Social Studies assessment this week. We have now moved back to science. For our final unit, we will be working with weather patterns and climate.

Students have been working on placing fractions on a number line. We have also been working on creating different fractions and creating equivalent fractions.
